Hunting, Fishing and the DENR

The tribe will be issuing hunting and fishing licenses, which will cover all of our retained hunting and fishing rights by treaty in our original territory and those territories described in treaties, to include the perpetual outlet west of Oklahoma, as far as the sovereignty and soil of the United States extend, as described by the 1835 treaty.

I am asking the DENR (department of environment and natural resources) to design an appropriate hunting and fishing license and combination license to be sold to our citizens.

If 1200 citizens purchase hunting and fishing licenses at $10 (ten dollars) per year, that will put $12,000 (twelve thousand dollars) in our treasury for employment purposes, to include game wardens on the Arkansas River.

I am also asking our DENR to design and appropriate certificate of title and registration for boats to carry a tribal registration number, including an annual renewal sticker for said boat at a price of $10 (ten dollars) per year. Our DENR will maintain all records of registration and licenses issued. Our Chief DENR is Carlos Valequez.

Remember we are a sovereign government and will continue to function as one.

By order of Gary Ridge, Principal Chief of the Southern Cherokee Nation

BW/sec.
